Who We Are
Who We Are
Cotillion for Achievement is a nonprofit organization founded in 1986 in St. Joseph, Missouri. For 40 years, we have celebrated the accomplishments and potential of outstanding high school seniors from Andrew and Buchanan counties.
Through educational experiences, leadership development, community engagement, and scholarships, Cotillion recognizes students who demonstrate achievement, character, and a commitment to their futures.
Our program brings together students, families, volunteers, and community supporters to celebrate excellence and encourage the next generation of leaders.

A Conversation That Inspired a Tradition
Cotillion for Achievement grew from conversations among three St. Joseph women — Sandie Beihl, Sally Carpenter, and Vikki Crouch — who shared a desire to recognize outstanding young people in their community.
Their vision led to the establishment of Cotillion in 1986 and its first recognition event in 1987. What began as a simple idea has become a 40-year tradition of celebrating academic achievement, leadership, and community service.

Guided by Community Volunteers
Cotillion for Achievement is led by a volunteer Board of Directors whose members share a commitment to recognizing and supporting local students.
Working together, board members coordinate educational programs, student activities, scholarship recognition, fundraising, and the annual Cotillion Ball. Their contributions help ensure that each class of students enjoys a meaningful and memorable experience.
We are grateful for the individuals who generously share their time, talents, and resources to continue Cotillion's tradition of excellence.
